Transitioning to Within

Switching your dog’s food should always be done gradually. A slow transition supports your dog’s digestion and helps them adjust to the nourishing benefits of Within - including our powerful Formula Biotics blend.

Here’s how to transition smoothly over two weeks:

Day 1 - 2: Begin the Introduction

Start by mixing 25% Within with 75% of your dog’s current food. At this early stage, the goal is familiarity - maintaining the bulk of their usual diet while quietly introducing our fresh, functional ingredients.

💡 Tip: Stick to regular feeding times and monitor stools for any sudden changes.

Day 3 - 4: Establish Balance

Increase the ratio to 50% Within and 50% current food. At this midpoint, your dog is becoming familiar with the new taste and texture - and may begin showing signs of increased energy or improved appetite.

💡 Tip: Keep an eye on water intake and overall behaviour. Subtle shifts in digestion are completely normal.

Day 5 - 6: Nearing Full Transition

Move to 75% Within and just 25% of their previous food. At this point, your dog is now receiving most of the benefits of Within’s carefully balanced recipes — including ingredients to support skin, coat, joints, and immunity.

💡 Tip: If your dog has a sensitive stomach, feel free to extend this stage by a few extra days.

Day 7: Fully Within

Welcome to 100%. Your dog is now enjoying Within in every bowl — a recipe designed to nourish them completely, day after day.
You’ve successfully transitioned them to a diet that’s complete, balanced, and backed by science. It’s what they deserve.

💡 Tip: If your dog ever needs to switch recipes within our range (e.g. calming support or gut health), you can follow this same gentle process.

What to expect during a food change

As your dog transitions to Within, it’s completely normal to see small changes – especially in digestion.

Normal adjustments can include:

  • Slight changes in stool texture or colour
  • Temporary increase in gas
  • Mild hesitancy at the bowl (especially in fussy eaters)

These usually settle within a few days as their system adjusts to our nutrient-rich formula and Formula Biotics blend.

However, you should pause the transition and speak to your vet if you notice:

  • Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Complete loss of appetite
  • Lethargy or signs of pain
  • Blood in stool

Not Eating? Here’s what to check

If your dog seems hesitant to eat during the transition, consider:

  • Are you feeding in a calm, distraction-free space?
  • Are they used to strong flavours or dry textures? (You can try warming the food slightly or adding a splash of warm water)
  • Have you changed their feeding times recently?
  • Is there an underlying stress, such as fireworks, travel or routine disruption?

Some dogs just need more time. Others may be testing boundaries – stick to regular meal-times and avoid overfeeding treats.
