Skin & Coat – At-Home Grooming
Good food + simple grooming = a healthy shine
Regular grooming keeps your dog’s skin healthy and their coat looking its best – and it’s a great bonding moment, too.
Quick grooming tips:
- Brush regularly
Long-haired dogs may need daily brushing, while short coats benefits from a quick brush 1-2 times a week to remove loose hair and dirt.
- Use a gentle shampoo
Bathe only when needed (every 4-8 weeks) with a dog-safe, skin-friendly shampoo.
- Check for changes
Look out for dry patches, flakiness, redness or excessive scratching – it could signal an allergy, sensitivity, or need for dietary support.
- Feed for skin health
A healthy coat starts inside. Within recipes are rich in Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids and gentle fibres to support skin, coat and digestion.
If your dog’s coat suddenly dulls or sheds excessively, check with your vet or review their nutrition.
Paw Care & Bathing Tips
Small routines that make a big difference
Your dog’s paws do all the hard work – walking, running, playing – so keeping them healthy is key. Bathing, meanwhile, should be simple and stress-free.
Paw Care:
- Wipe after walks to remove dirt, salt or chemicals (especially in winter)
- Trim nails every 3-4 weeks or when you hear them tapping on the floor
- Check between toes for grass seeds, cuts or redness
- Use paw balm if pads are cracked or dry
Bathing Basics:
- Don’t over bathe – every 4-8 weeks is enough unless they get muddy
- Use lukewarm water and dog-specific shampoo only
- Dry thoroughly, especially around ears and paws
- Brush before and after to reduce tangles and shed
Make bath time positive with treats and praise – and always check water temperature before staring.
